Who are we?
CERAV/Afrique has a resource center consisting of a multipurpose room and a reading room. It was inaugurated on March 28, 2018 by the Minister in charge of Culture, and its main missions are to:
- make available to students, teachers, researchers, artists and professionals in the world of culture documentation in the field of the performing arts (dance, music, theatre), including cinema and audiovisual;
- provide the necessary resource on the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and on the Charter for African Cultural Renaissance;
- promote interactive exchanges between actors from the world of culture in the fields of competence of CERAV/Africa;
- support culture and arts professionals, including students, teachers and researchers in the search for information on the living arts, cinema and audiovisual through the establishment of a digital library;
- develop links with resource centers operating in the field of culture and the arts in the African region.

Areas covered
The CERAV/Africa resource center has a fairly rich and varied documentary collection relating to the areas of competence of CERAV/Africa and general documents. These include documents relating to the following areas:
- dance;
- music;
- theater;
- cinema and audiovisual;
- the 2005 UNESCO Convention;
- etc
Multipurpose room
The Resource Center has a multipurpose room containing the documentary collection which is made up of books, magazines, CDs & DVDs, films and digital resources. The resources constituting this fund are mainly in French and English and organized in departments and classified according to the Dewey decimal classification. The multipurpose room is a reserve intended for the reception and conservation of CERAV/Africa documentation.
Reading room
The reading room with an area of approximately 40m2 is equipped with tables, chairs, shelves containing documents that can be consulted on site, and high-speed WiFi. It is an ideal setting for reading and documentary research. It is open Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Membership conditions
Membership is free and consultation is done on site. Each user has a membership card.
Outlook
A digital library is being created for the benefit of center users. This library aims to make available to students, teachers, researchers, artists and professionals in the world of culture the necessary digital resource on the performing arts, cinema and audiovisual, including 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
