After three days of intensive work, the regional workshop on "Cooperation and Diplomacy for the Development of Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC)" in Africa ended this Friday in Ouagadougou. Organized by the Regional Center for Live Arts in Africa (CERAV/Africa), under the chairmanship of Mr. Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, this event brought together some thirty experts and professionals in the cultural field from various African and European countries.
The workshop, which took place from 22 to 24 October 2024, aimed to strengthen CCI development strategies in Africa while promoting cultural cooperation that respects African values. Under the high patronage of Mr. Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event allowed participants to reflect on concrete avenues of action to boost creative industries on the continent.
In the final declaration, participants made firm commitments to encourage the integration of CCIs into cultural development policies. They also called for strengthening partnerships between African states, training institutions and international organizations in order to promote the growth of CCIs in Africa.
The closing ceremony concluded on a note of hope and cooperation, with an emphasis on the need for an equitable partnership with non-African countries, always respecting local cultural specificities.
